100ml. tin of clear varnish, suitable for use as a top coat over the oak colour varnish, listed above. It can also be used to seal the end grain, prior to applying the oak coloured varnish, to ensure even coverage.

Canvas and gauze pieces for miniature embroidery

We supply pieces of 18 count canvas, 22 count canvas and 32 count silk gauze cut to the sizes as listed below. If you want a different size, we can arrange that with you - just email us with the dimensions.

If you prefer to work from charts and use your own wools or threads, and adapt designs to suit yourself, these pieces provide a way to get just enough for one project.

18 count white interlock canvas
This is the same canvas that we use in our carpet kits. It is supplied 13 inches wide, so that it can be fitted on a rectangular roller frame. We recommend the use of a frame, as it helps prevent distortion and makes the canvas easier to sew.

This is the same silk gauze that we use in our bellpull kits, etc., and is in natural (ecru) colour.

It is supplied unmounted - we recommend that it is mounted in an aperture made of a stiff card (such as mount board), as this reduces the risk of distortion of the work and makes it more pleasant to sew on.

Fray Check 22.5ml
A thin, colourless fabric glue, which we recommend for use when finishing some curved edged carpets, such as Bella, the oval Kate carpets, Theresa, or the Tigerskin rug. It bonds the fabric fibres together invisibly, making it safe to trim an edge without it fraying.
