There are two formats of the free chart design to choose from, depending on how you
prefer to work. The original design was made to be worked in needlepoint (that is, tent
stitch - similar to half cross stitch), but you could easily use the same chart and
stitch it in cross stitch if you want to.You can stitch it on 28 count evenweave, as was
intended for the original sampler, in which case it will be 1.8 x 2.1 inches (4.5 x 5.5
cm) when finished - the same size as all the sampler kits that we sell online in our
shop of dolls house embroidery kits
. Or you could decide to stitch it on a different count of evenweave fabric or Aida -
it's up to you!

OPTION ONE
If you choose this option, you can download the black and white chart, with carefully
chosen symbols to make it easier to spot light and dark colours. You can use the
recommended colours as listed in the colour key, or choose your own, if you prefer.
TO DOWNLOAD THIS FREE CHART, click on the picture at left, or the link under it, to open
this large .gif picture file in your browser. Then you can RIGHT-click on it with your
mouse, and either SAVE it to your hard drive, or COPY and PASTE it into an image handling
program. Then print it out, with the paper set to 'portrait' and sized as big as
possible, with just about an inch margin all round.

OPTION TWO
. Alternatively, you can download a colour block chart, which is the same format as the
charts supplied in all our dolls house embroidery kits. This is easy to follow, as
the colour blocks are always a similar colour to that of the thread you would use, so you
do not need to keep mentally 'converting' symbols to thread shades.
