Susan's House

Susan decided to try one of my carpet kits as her introduction to miniature needlepoint. She says, "I have just completed the Bella carpet and would like to tell you how delighted I am with the result. This actually looks and feels like a real carpet! The instructions were very clear and easily understood. This is the first carpet I have sewn, but it definitely will not be the last. Thank you for this enjoyable activity."

The BELLA carpet which Susan stitched works beautifully in the pink bedroom of her 'Toll House', which she bought from Dolls House Emporium. This was her first attempt at setting up a dolls house and it is still a 'work-in-progress'.

Several months later, Susan emailed me some images of another stitching project - this time, she used a chart pack of the JOSIE carpet design, and chose her own colourway of yellows and greens on a pale background, to match the colour scheme of her summerhouse, which is called "Susan's Sanctum". As she says, "It is the place I would like to have where I could carry out my various hobbies; reading, computing, sewing, knitting, music and of course making doll's houses."

Susan’s Sanctum, seen from above, with the JOSIE carpet, in her own choice of colours, on the floor.

Another view of the hobby room. Of course, it has to contain a doll’s house in the process of being put together!
