Betty’s Wallhanging

Betty, in Stourport, Worcestershire, sent a photo of her “Cluny Women” Wallhanging. She should be an inspiration to anyone, especially those who think they might find it too difficult to start stitching:

After explaining how she had the photo taken for her, she went on to say:

“I do love doing embroidery of any kind, but my favourite is the tapestries, and some X stitch. I find it a great help to me, as I am disabled. I manage to get around indoors but I have a wheelchair outside, but I am not complaining. I am 80 years old this year, and feel very good in every way except for being able to walk very far. Please keep the photos and please let me know what you have for Dolls Houses. I must not waste any more of your time.

Yours sincerely, Betty.”

Dollhouse needlepoint kit - Cluny Women

The wallhanging “Cluny Women” is stitched using two strands of Anchor thread on 22 count canvas. How many people have we heard say their eyesight wouldn’t be up to such fine work? Well done, Betty! We don’t think you’re wasting our time at all

– keep up the good work!
